Practical :D

So, first add the sugar and the eggs together. Then start whisking!

The eggs are fluffy now! Then you add in the pumpkin, milk and vanilla essence. Then continue mixing :D

Added in the flour, baking soda and the pinch of salt. Mix till it is all mixed in.

Start scooping the mixture into the reusable cups.

Okay, all filled.

Sprinkle some pumpkin seeds on them. Put the plate into the steamer to steam for about 15 mins.
TADA :D
Practical evaluation:
I think it turned out pretty well but I think that I can put in lesser vanilla essence as it kind of covers up the taste of the pumpkin. I also think that I should have left it in the steamer for a longer period of time as I find that the middle of the steam cake was a bit undercooked.  I should have managed my time better in the practical session and I was really panicky through out it. I should have calmed down and maybe I wouldn't have blundered though some parts.

Practical question evaluation

Since the dish is for my younger sister, I have to think about the profile of my sister and consider the nutritional level for her age and what is not supposed to be cooked in the dish based on her allergies.

Profile of sister

Age: 9
Height:122
Weight: 31
BMI:20.8 (Healthy range)
Likes: Sweet food
Activities: She would be staying at home to revise for her exams on that day. So not much calories are needed but she needs to eat protein-rich food for her brain :D

Since she likes sweet foods, I would make a dessert to cheer her up and motivate her :)
I do not have an oven at home, and this disadvantage will greatly reduce the choices of dishes.

Some ideas for the dish:

1) Pumpkin steam cakes
Steam cakes don't need butter to make which is unhealthy as it is saturated fats. Steam cakes also use a lot of eggs, which is protein-rich. Pumpkin is rich is vitamin C which will help her immune system so she won't fall sick easily before her exam.

2) Cheesecake (no need to bake one)

Cheese is one of the foods that contains the most amount of protein. The base of the cheesecake made of digestive biscuit which is rich in fibre. The berries (e.g. raspberries and blueberries) used to decorate the cakes contain antioxidants. But the level of skill might not meet the standards of the practical even though it might be better for presentation.

In the end, I chose pumpkin steamed cake to do for my practical as it can meet the standards of most of the requirements in the rubrics of the practical.

Practical question

Your mum has requested that you help to prepare a simple
nutritious dish (main course, accompaniment, dessert, snack etc.)
for both your younger sister and you. She has given you $10 to
purchase the ingredients at the neighbourhood supermarket. Plan
your lunch menu, taking into account the given budget. Explain your
choice of ingredients used and the dish you have decided to cook.
